Greeting From Lim Anuar

In another 24 hours, we will be in the year of Ox. I just can't wait as I heard some of the 'feng shui' tips from the TV and radio, stating that this coming year will be a great year for a few Chinese zodiac and rabbit is included!!!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Wealth, love, studies, health and luck are all go to rabbits! Isn't this a great news? Well, I have no idea on how accurate it might be as there are no theories nor fact to support the Chinese reading. Like what Dr. A had told us in class, we must have enough reliability and validity to prove a statement or theory correct.

Right, my dear coursemates?
I know some of you are reading this and don't tell Dr. A ya.. hahahaha....

Anyway, good news are always welcome no matter how unreliable it might be - of course, not if it is something illogical. My rational mind work well in this case. Thus, no matter how, I will treat my Ox year and 2009 as a good starting for my extra-ordinary journey. Yes. I believe in myself.

At the same time, I do hope it will bring you good luck and beautiful year as well. No matter what, we are still the one who choose our own destiny. Don't just rely on Feng Shui or fate. Without hard work, there is no result.

Let us focus on Lim Anuar now, as what I had written on my blog post title. I wonder how I manage to maneuver that far from my main topic. Lol.. Sorry.

This morning, I have received a beautiful e-card from Lim Anuar, one of my friend who I knew from RC Deaf Mission. He is a deaf artist who work in Lim Kok Wing (my dream university years ago) and I really admire his work a lot. Besides, he has showed me the courage to pursue his dream despite his disadvantage. After years of hardwork, he is now a well-known local deaf artist who shares his talent with the world. That's one of the aspect which I adore him a lot.

Can you be my 'si fu'??
Haha...

I love his Chinese New Year greeting card so much.
Thank you Lim Anuar. Hope that you wouldn't mind as I am sharing your lovely card here... The cows are so cute. Did you really snap them?
;)

Right now, I am missing my other RC Deaf Mission friends - both deaf and hearing friends. We make good companions and I will never forget my experience when I was with them. They have taught me to be stronger and braver each day although, communication might be a problem for us to get closer.

No matter how, I am trying not to forget my sign language (sigh.. I am slowly forgetting them. Knock my head twice. Ouch!).

Some posts which you might not want to miss about RC Deaf Mission:

Happy Chinese New Year and God bless.

Again, Happy Ox Year to my lovely readers who always eager to find out more about this extra-ordinary egg - ME of course! Haha.. You are the main reason why I am still keeping this blog for 2 years.
2 YEARS!!!!!

Wow... I really can't believe it.
Thank you for loving this Curryegg. She loves you too!
Happy holiday!

Fashion Show By The Deaf

What is in your mind right now when you read the word 'deaf'?
The world of silence? No sound? No music?
Can't speak?

Honestly, I can't imagine my life without any sound nor not able to speak. Being a girl who love music ever since she was a kid, I just can't imagine what will happen if God takes away my ability to hear. That's why, I'm so proud of my deaf friends who have strong determination in fighting for whatever they desire. They are tough!

I love mixing with the deaf. They are nice and friendly when you know how to communicate with them.

And lately, I am quite active with the activity organized by the RC Deaf Mission (an organization helping the deaf). I'd joined a few of their events and today, I should say is my fun day! RC Deaf Mission was actually being invited by the Sunway Pyramid to make an exhibition there for 3 days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Well, the sales for greeting cards, calender, painting and art work were kinda slow but the atmosphere was great!

The great thing is, the female deaf were asked to perform on the stage, doing their fashion show. Oh my... they look amazing! They look like real professional models!!!!

*envy*
*envy*

Ahhwwwwwww.... MAC and Cut Above are so kind, volunteered to help the models for the make-up and hair-do.

Oh my... You gotta check these out!
Batik time!!!!!

Dino explaining the meaning of the batik and others artwork

Greeting cards.
Psst.. I love this silk batik! Eeerrr... I want it!!!

The latest 2009 calender made by the deaf. I swear, it's beautiful and worth to be kept! They are really talented and that's make me admire them even more... :D

And the four beautiful models... XD

Frankly, they no nothing about cat-walk but they have done a great-good-job while on the stage. They learned the walks on the spot without rhythms nor background music on their mind. That's what make the fashion show engaging.. :D

Who is he?
He's Lim Anuar, the artist who creates all the batik work. Brilliant!

Dino trying to promote the RC Deaf Mission T-shirt to the audience. It's call the 'Sign With Me' T-shirt... Well, I have it!!!
:)

Next, photography session and how could I miss it? Oh my... they really look like models.. Coooolll!!!! :D

Group photos!
I love this photo a lot!

You might be wondering, what is my work during in the Deaf Art Expose 2. Well, come closer... let me tell you about my job.. But shhh.... make sure you can keep secret and don't let other know. Promise? :P

I work in my own booth, drawing and selling my art work. It's hard but I enjoy the work. I never know I've art talent until today. Wow! I'm a genius!
Muahahaha....

Oopss!!!!!
Someone caught me...

Gosh! How did you know that the booth wasn't mine? Eeerr.... Pecah rahsia pula. Sigh... Ok ok. I confess. The booth isn't mine and including all the art works. It's Lim Anuar's booth actually... :(

He was the one who actually took the pictures of me, sitting and pretending as I am the artist. Naughty him. Haha.. Lim Anuar is a very talented artist and unbelievably, he was one of the student from Lim Kok Wing University and now he is working in the institution. Wow...

Tomorrow (21th September 2008) will be the last day for the Deaf Art Expose 2 and there will be fashion show at 3pm in the LG floor, Old Wing. If you are interested and stay nearby, do come and have a look at their work. They will be happy to see you there.. :D

By the way, there will be other fashion shows done by the professional models tomorrow and do check them out.

Can't wait to meet them again.
Wait.. wait.. wait a minute...

I haven't done my assignment!
Shit!!!! Aaarrgggggggg!!!!!

Deaf Art Expose 2008

Fuh......
Finally, I've managed to uploaded these photos into my blog using my old laptop. Luckily, I still have my laptop with me or else, Curryegg is going to burst into tears.

What happen?
Well, my desktop is being affected by viruses and now my babey is seriously sick. Sigh... Worse, all 'her' memories (data) are lost. That's mean Curryegg will loss all her photo albums, assignments and songs in her hard disks.

Sigh...
It's ok. It shouldn't be my problem after all because there is something I should put more concern on. It's about the Deaf Art Expose 2008.

As I've mentioned earlier in my previous blog post, there is an event starting by 1-3rd August in AMCORP Mall, PJ, Kuala Lumpur and I was there on the very first day (Friday). Look at what I've found out here!

Happy to know the deaf.. ;)

I definitely need more practice for my beginner level sign language. Don't worry, I will be even better tomorrow. Practice make perfect right? Hehe... :)

Tomorrow will be another great day. Yes!
