Halloween Day VS Hungry Ghost Festival?

Halloween day sounds so strange to me.
This festival has never came across to my mind until recently, I saw posts from other bloggers who blog about it. Well, of course I saw it in the TV show before. Lol...

I am wondering, will there be any differences between the Chinese Hungry Ghost Festival and the Western Halloween Day? What's the difference? Both are about invisible creatures.

Maybe, the differences are about the customs?

Western custom.
Chinese traditional custom.

The way they celebrate?

Pumpkins

Grave

Halloween party?

While the Chinese will do the offering, praying and burning those 'gold paper'.

Maybe, there will be differences for the words G-H-O-S-T?

But what I am sure is that, the Chinese won't have....

Ghost which is ROCK!!! Haha....

But... the Chinese will have this....
Scary look from the Chinese ghost...... Lol...

Anyway, what are the similarities? I don't have any idea. I think, both festivals are about..... shhh..... Spirits... Ghosts.... Muahaha........

Okok... both have cute ghost.. like these:

Stop blabbing now. Haha...
Well, Happy Halloween Day my friends. Hope that you're not being frighten by me. kekekez.... Bye... ^^

Am I Having Mental Disoders?

Finally, I've finished my first two tests yesterday. They were going quite well. Anyway, I was nervous when I was in the exam hall. It was huge and I was lost for several times. Luckily, I was able to sit for the exam just on time. Yup. JUST ON TIME!
Fuhh... I had gone there for an hour earlier, but still late for it. Haha...

So, how are you guys? Doing well over there?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I still have 4 papers and I am preparing for them. As I was revising my psychology, I was surprised with this topic: Psychology Disorders.

As I am reading this topic, I found out that there are variety of disorders which are stated in DSM-IV-TR.

DSM- Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. This is an American handbook for mental health professionals which is widely accepted classification scheme. It classifies, defines, and describes over 200 mental disorders.

I can imagine what are you thinking now. Your mind is thinking of the word "insane" don't ya? Haha.... Tell me if I am wrong. Well, for all this time I thought that normal people don't experience any symptoms of a psychological disorder.

Try this few questions (I found this in my book):
  • Have you always feel tensed or depressed or anxious?
  • Have you ever worried excessively?
  • Been fearful to something that you know rationally that could not harm you?
  • Had thought about suicide? (I hope not)
  • Used drugs or alcohol to escape from drugs? (Please don't)
  • Shouting all the way to express your stress or anger?
I believe everyone of us will answer yes to at least one of these questions. This shows that everyone experienced the symptoms of a psychological disorder.
Gosh! I don't believe this! I am not!

As I am reading this topic, I find out that I am experiencing the anxiety disorders (a type of psychological disorders). There are five big categories in this anxiety disorders: Generalized anxiety disorder, phobic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

  • Generalized anxiety disorder- a person who feels anxious or worried most of the time for at least 6 months, when not threaten by any specific danger.
  • Panic Disorder - Experience unexpected, severe panic attacks that may last only a minutes. This attacks begin with a feeling of intense apprehension, fear, or terror.
  • Phobias - Suffer from a persistent and irrational fear of a specific object, activity or situation that is excessive and unreasonable given the reality of the threat.
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder - experiencing an unwanted invasion of consciousness repetitively.
  • Post-traumatic Stress disorder - Persistent re-experience of traumatic events through distressing recollections, dreams, hallucinations or dissociative flashbacks. (rape, severe injury, life-threatening events and natural disasters.)

Gerrig, R. J. & Zimbardo P. G. (2006). Psychology and Life (18th eds). United States: Pearson Education, Inc.

What I've found out in myself?

Curryegg:
  • Feeling worried and anxious all the time for my mid-term exam - Generalized anxiety disorder
  • Having a great fear and terror for exams and assignments ever since I am a student - Panic disorder
  • Shivering whenever I think about the exam paper. I couldn't even see it! Take it away.. shu..shuh.... - Phobic disorder
  • Keep on thinking and worrying for my exam - Obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • Feeling afraid of the word 'exam' and 'homework' ever since I was in secondary school. They keep 'hunting' me.... wuuooooo- post-traumatic disorder?
Oopss.. What am I suppose to do?

Gosh! This is scary!

I am having mental disorders now. Muahaha.... But hey! I am still normal (I guess so.. haha..). This is just the normal stage and I believe most of us especially students will face this. Students who wish to achieve good result will of course facing stress but just don't push yourself too hard. We need to balance ourselves by having some relaxation moments for example take some walks at the park, do some sports like swimming or doing something that you enjoy the most for example blogging just like what I am doing now. Hahaha....

Relax....

Actually I am giving myself some reasons to blog. That's why I am here now. Kekekzz..
Anyway, it's good that I can do some revisions about psychology here and at the same time sharing this information with you guys. Okok... I am going to off now. Don't mumble me anymore.. *begging*

Last word: It's normal to feel stress in our lives no matter in work, family, relationship, studies or etc. However, we should be wise in controlling it. Otherwise, you will end up in Tanjung Rambutan,a mental hospital in Malaysia. Lol...

Are You Beautiful?

As I was doing my revision about eating disorders (Psychology), I came across with two familiar terms: Anorexia nervosa and Bulmia nervosa.
These 2 eating disorders are common in our society now, even in Asia.

Definition:
  • Anorexia Nervosa: An eating disorder involving intense fears of gaining weight coupled with refusal to maintain normal body weight.
  • Bulimia Nervosa: An eating disorder in which individuals engage in recurrent episodes of binge eating following by some form of purging.

Both of these disorders will bring fatal if left untreated.

While I was reading this topic, I was wondering what's the meaning for beauty? Why do people especially the females have the perception that being thin is beautiful? Why are the females willing to spend some big amount of money to reduce their weight? (Marie Claire,London...etc..)

Why?
Why?
And Why?

Since the mid 1960s, standards of female beauty changed drastically in many countries, shifting from a preference for voluptuous, well-rounded figures to a much slimmer shape. (Baron, R. A. & Kalsher, M. J. 2005)

This shifting of mind of the society that being thin is beautiful is influenced by the media. For example, slim, sexy female models are used in the advertisement in the TV or on the first cover of the magazines. This has changed the perception of the society that being slim is preferable and attractive. Thus, everyone especially the females are trying to be as slim as they can.

Slim legs...

Of course, no one want to see models like for example...

this.... ;(
It's unhealthy anyway..

The influence of the media is so strong that every girls are trying to be as slim as they can to fit on the S size shirt... or maybe XS size. Ever since I stepped into the teenage world and now.. youth, I keep on hearing complains like:

"Oh no! I've gained weight! I must stop taking my lunch and dinner now."
"My legs are too flashy. Sob... I wanna be like Jolin"
"Curryegg, my face look chubby. What should I do?".
"I wanna be like XXXXX. Slim, sexy..."

Are they sound familiar to you? Well, I should say besides the girls, guys start to worry about their weight and look too. I've some boy friends that are so worry about their weight. As a result, they skip their meals or exercise excessively in order to look slim and fit.

Sometimes, I really don't understand that why being slim is beautiful? It's not attractive at all when you're too thin....

Isn't that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder? A person who is confident, friendly, kind, generous, intelligence and any term that you can name them for good reason will be more attractive rather than just good physical look?

Before, I was so concerned about my features. I wanted my eyes to be bigger, rounder, a high nose and a smoother skin.

I dreamed to be like......
Jolin Tsai
Britney Spears (the previous her)

Christina Aguilera

They look so perfect to me.
However, when I saw these:

Well, those models, or celebrities that you've seen in the magazine are not 100% the real of them! Most of the photos have been edited and modified using certain software like photoshop to make them look better. A person can look slimmer after being edited using the software and it's definitely a false look (I mean some). Besides, make-up will make a person look better.

Of course, if I know how to edit my photo using photoshop and make-up to cover my weakness, I will do it too. haha.. for the sake of beauty...physically.. ;D

Soon, I learn that inner beauty is what we should have as a human like Princess Diana (She's beautiful as well). I stop complaining about myself. I start to look in a different perspective about the meaning of beauty.

To be beautiful, we should have:

Confidence!

Without confidence, no matter how beautiful you're, others will not notice your beauty. It applies to both female and male.

Healthy body!

You're nothing when you're unhealthy physically, mentally and emotionally. Just imagine, you keep on curving your grumpy look, being sick all the time and stress all the while? Get a life!

Friendly!

People won't be around if you're not friendly. Just smile when meeting with people but don't force yourself if you don't want to. It will look fake..

No matter how we look like, we're beautiful. Here's a song by Christina Aguilera's that I dedicated to all of us....
Remember... We're beautiful, no matter what they say..... ;D

The Beauty of Titiwangsa

Eerr....
I really don't know what is happening on Blogger.
First, I couldn't upload my photos when there was an error on the upload page. When I managed to upload my photos in the next hour, I offline and take my lunch. When I was ready to blog about those photos, I was stuck on the sign in page. I couldn't sign in nor sign out and the page was hang for around 20 minutes!

Soon, I gave up and did some revision.
Now, it was 7.00pm and I finally manage to sign in to my blogger account. Gosh! What's the problem? Is it from me or the Blogger itself?
Sigh... ;(

Well, since I've managed to open this posting page, I will blog about my long-awaiting-post: Titiwangsa. Those who stay in Kuala Lumpur area should know well about titiwangsa. I remember that it was a normal, unattractive park 10 years ago. However, due to the Visit Malaysia 2007 project, the park has been upgraded and become a tourist hot-spot in Kuala Lumpur.

Thinking of Titiwangsa, we will naturally thinking of The Eye On Malaysia - The biggest Ferris wheels in Malaysia. Haha... I went there before and it was big! ( Of course it can't compare with The Eye On London)

Here are some photos that I've managed to capture on last Friday. I like the place a lot.

The Ferris Wheels...

This is the board that has written the whole year events. I will wait for the final event: Firework on 31 December 2007. Hopefully I can join the celebration.. ;)

Besides the Ferris Wheel, there is another eye-catching spot. It is located not far from the ferries wheel.

The......
Water-sport. Those boats look lovely and I really wish to try it.. haha...

While I was busy snapping photos around, my eyes suddenly spotted an object who had passed by behind. Don't be silly. It was not.... G.H.O.S.T....

It was a man on a boat. At first, I thought.. wow.. what a romantic I can have if I can get a ride on it.. When I walked nearer to the man, suddenly.. I noticed that...

It was the rubbish boat. Lol.... *Disappointed*
Not romantic at all. Sob...

Looking at this picture, the guy look so lonely. Waiting for someone?

As we were wandering around, we came across with the most beautiful toilet in Titiwangsa. Yup! The most unique among the others.

See? Actually, I was not so attracted with the design. To be frank, I my eyes had once again spotted something special......

The RM0.20 counter.. haha...
What a creative and systematic public toilet. Lol...

Blogger! Let me upload my photos!

I've been busy lately in preparing for my final examination which will begin on next Monday. There are a lot to be revised and I am trying my best to study everything. Anyway, I still wanna blog now. Let me blog! Let me blog! ;D

After 30 minutes....

Hey! I couldn't post my photos now. I wonder what is happening to blogger. Sigh.... I've been trying to upload it but there is an error for the upload page.

Recently, people are getting crowded in wordpress and I can see that the system in wordpress is better than blogger. You can get nice free template, and the comment box is nice and systematic. If they still don't allow me to upload my photo, blogger... I am leaving! *threating tone*
Eerrr...... ;(

Lol... I should try later... Patient curryegg... ;)

Titiwangsa
We went to Titiwangsa early in the morning to have a morning walk.

Saisaki Buffet Restaurant
At around 11.45 am, we reached Saisaki Restaurant which is not far from KL Conventional Centre. It is a Japanese buffet and I've made my booking a day before the celebration. How do I know about this restaurant? I gotta know it from my course mate and she told me it was a nice place. So, I gave it a try.

I was stunned once I stepped into their restaurant. Their staff were lining along the entrance and greeted us. Wow, I felt like I was the VIP. Lol.. haha...
They had reserved a table for us which was in located near the glass. Once we knew our table, we wandered around the restaurant and got a clear view on those food. And hey! Amazing!!!! They were variety of sushi, cakes, fruits, ice-cream, tempura and... etc..etc..

Everything that was served look so yummy. They were tempting! Here were what I've taken.

Yummy yummy...

I love this. I arranged them.. ;D
The crab stick!
I was having shark fin soup! Yummy...

I wish to snapped more photos around the place, but I was not allowed. The staff stopped me. Hermmm... ;(
So, here are what I could get.

We were having so much fun and enjoying every food there especially prawn. They were really fresh and delicious. Somehow, we were suffering at the end. Why? My stomach was almost exploding as a result of consuming too much of food. My belly was like a 4 months pregnant woman. Gosh! I was too greedy. Haha... At the end, both Eric and I were struggling walking out from the restaurant. I could never forget the moment. Haha...

Lesson: Don't be too greedy.

KLCC

Soon, we could only walked around the KLCC to digest those food. Anyway, I still managed to snap some photos around the place.

I like this photo. It looks so unique to me.. ;)

KL Tower
After spending some hours in KLCC, we felt much better and managed to walk even faster. Lol.. So, the next stop was in KL Tower. It has been a long time I didn't go to KL Tower, ever since it was built in October 1996. I was still small at that time. Well, it has changed a lot especially the services given by the staff. I like their smiles that were curved on their lovely faces.. ;)

KL tower!

There were some Malay traditional music instrument.

Wow! The dancers! I was lucky to be able to watch them.

The view from the KL tower. Look, we were there in the KLCC ( Twin Tower) before standing on top of KL tower. Haha....

See, this is the MP4. You can get it from the service centre once you reach to the top of the tower. There were slide shows in this MP4. You can get any information about Kuala Lumpur via this MP4. Cool?!

Every visitor was given a piece paper and a pencil. It was a survey to rate their services.
Being a good citizen, I did it... :D

While I was busying doing the survey, see what did Eric do?

Eating the huge, pineapple rubbish bin? Alamak..

Overall, we were having a fun, exciting day and I love that moment a lot. I hope that he'll enjoy it and remember this moment for his entire life (since I planned it). Haha...

Happy Birthday ty!
I love you <3
