Because of The Determination.

Because of the determination,

 

1) I have changed my blog banner within 2.5 hours. Or probably 3.. or probably 4. Well, quoted from Sharon this morning, she said that when we are indulged in something we like, we will not be aware of the time. Yes, I truly agree with her especially when it comes to blog related stuff. I took a good long hours to adjust and resize my blog banner so that it fits the way I want.

 

For a person who has been away from the blogosphere for years, I need time to pick up with what I have left behind. Because of the determination, I succeed and make us a new look for curryegg! Yay~

2) I attend PGDE (Postgraduate Diploma in Education) classes in UUM KL since Monday. Most of the teachers across the country are enjoying their 1 week holiday with family and friends. However, the TFM fellows (including me) must woke up as early as 6am to fight with the KL traffic so that we can reach the building on time. Because of the determination, I pull myself hard enough to attend holiday classes… *sleep… I want sleep..* T.T

3) I captured an inspiring scene of a Form 3 student who was helping her mum in running the ‘pisang goreng’ business while a Maths book was placed clumsily on the stool with a pencil, and a scientific calculator on it. The scene was spotted when my friends and I were looking for lunch and so happened, we came across with a stall, located in between of the old buildings. There was a young girl who was sitting on the stool with an earplug attached to one of her ears, doing Maths attentively while her mum was frying banana.

 

 

I was curious with this young lady and managed to initiate a short conversation. Then, I found out that this 15 year old girl has a strong will to succeed in the coming PMR and in the meantime, she wants to help her family. Hence, she was there helping her mum while stealing opportunity to work on her studies. I was touched immediately by her boldness and secretly hoping that my students can learn from her.

Because of the determination, I found an inspiring story besides the busy road.

 

4) I have finished my assignment according to the set timeline and daily goal.  Before this, I was bad with time management and my tasks were mostly undone, hence procrastinated.  Being an adult and a teacher of 400+ students, responsibility has of course increased. There is no any reason to not show excellence when my main goal now is to educate future generation to be an accountable individual. Because of the determination, I have achieved my goals ;)

These are such a great news and I am inspired to be more determined in the coming days to achieve something that can enlighten my days. Looking forward for a longer list to come so that in the end of the year, I can review my own achievement and be super duper proud with myself.

Be A Rainbow Babe~

Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud because when you did, you’ll be the one who actually own the rainbow.

 

When you did, you will be the one who understand the beauty of a colorful rainbow by making the effort in creating one and sharing it with others. Probably, this is what they say you gain what you give. It takes me years to understand this as I was very much a self-centered person back then who didn’t value the meaning of ‘sharing’.

Worse, I didn’t even know how to share a smile where most of the time, I was putting serious or grumpy face when I was a kid. Well, you can’t blame me when I was born as the only child in the family. It’s so hard not to value my ‘property’ when my parents hardly afford me new toys. Well, I don’t come from a wealthy family. Plus, there is no Facebook, Twitter or Google+ back then where ‘sharing buttons’ were unavailable. Lame =P

 

It’s amazing on how life experiences can change and shape a person’s perspective. As I am growing up, I perceive and learn things differently from people around me. I learn that to gain something, you have to genuinely create the intention and share it around. For instance, if you want happiness, create the happy mood in yourself and make the afford of creating jokes or simply smiles to others. If you want appreciation, learn to appreciate others. If you want money, work first.

 

Of course, this doesn’t come in an exact equation but take it as a general idea which I’ve recently discovered.

So, begin your day with a smile(s). You never know that how a simple smile can effortlessly lift up someone’s day, and even your own too. For sure, that someone includes me.

Simple Effort Creates Simple Happiness

Yesterday, I have earned a lesson that a simple thing can create simple happiness. So real, so genuine. In fact, I know this simple fact of life. Just, it feels so good to experience it, again by myself (instead of reading and listening from others).

 

More than often, we are so paralyzed with the idea of getting the latest, best, branded stuff in town to make people around us happy. Example, like getting them a pair of Jimmy Choo's shoes, hot-selling LV bag, expensive 5 stars restaurant, Audi R8, iPhone or etc. Thank to the power of advertisement that work so well in creating such a picture in our minds. It is sounds like, if you don’t have them, you are not happy.

 

Well, I did think so. I feel that if only if I can get stuff with certain standard and criteria, only I am able to  impress and make them happy. That is why, I always have this desire to earn the best amount of money so that I am able to pamper my loved ones someday, including my parents, partner, friends and siblings.

 

I thought I am not capable of creating any happiness in others at the moment, because I do not have strong buying power. After yesterday incident, my thought has changed.

 

It is all because of the bowl of mee suah soup I made and the precious smile I received that have enlighten my mind. It touches my heart and unconsciously teaching me the meaning of real happiness with minimal involvement of money, but with great amount of care and love.

This has reminded me of all the people whom have treated me well throughout my 24 years including my grandmas, parents, aunties, uncles, siblings, teachers and friends. Each and every effort they have made for me, like making meals for me so that I won’t get hungry, provide me shelter so that I can have a place call home, accompanying me with jokes so that I can laugh when I am feeling down, punishing me so that I know what is right and wrong, and fetching me to school so that I can have a promising future.

 

These small little efforts are what actually making me happy all these while, and not those shinning bags, silky dress or cool gadget. And, I am happy that I can actually instill happiness in others too with my simple effort.

 

Just a scene of seeing someone you love, sipping noodles joyously, enjoying every drop of homemade soup and ending the meal with a smile of satisfaction makes me happy. As simple as that with no condition apply. I am grateful to own such a beautiful moment at an unexpected hour… =P

Now I understand why my aunt, grandma and dad enjoy cooking. Because, it can be an addiction to receive another priceless expression again, and again. And I am good in it too (cos I love food!).

P/s: Btw, don’t get me wrong. Money is still an important element to sustain life. My point is, we don’t have to spend much to make someone happy. Forget about the price tag and look for sincerity and love.. =)
