#rekomemories 3: Armpit Hairs

I was teaching my 1SP3 today on a new chapter called ‘Basic Measurement’ and focused on length and mass. So, like usual I connect my lesson with real world connection. This time, I choose the Olympic theme as my opening.

Me: So class, in what games will you we use length
Student A: Running.
Student B: Swimming.

Me: Emm… ok.
Student C: Teacher, cycling!

Me: Alright. So, what are the unit used for track and field?
Students: Meter! Kilometer too!

Me: Good. How about mass? In what games will we use mass?
Student D: Weightlifting!

Me: *feeling proud*
Wow. You guys are really good. Did you all watch weightlifting? What have you learnt from it? (what I actually mean was the type of mass unit normally used in the games).

Students E: I KNOW! Those female weightlifters have armpit hairs *raised his right hand while pointing at his armpit*

And the class burst into laughter.

They know because this was widely shared in the Facebook.
Kids this day… =.=!!

29 May 2012

Dear, I……

Ok.
I did what I was not suppose to do again.
Sigh….

I lost my phone for the 2nd time again in my life, minus 2 times being stolen. I swore I was being very careful… But, sigh.. This time, it dropped at the garden when I was busy shooting photo with Jane. I guess, it fell off from my tight pocket unconsciously. We both tried very hard to search around the suspected area, even talked to the workers but the result was expected.

I don’t think I deserve to use a mobile phone anymore. Probably I should just live a primitive life *smack myself*

One of the hardest moments is not to live without a mobile phone (I am living such a life now till I got back my number) but to inform le petit ami, (boyfriend in French) about the lost of his handphone.

My nervous system had already played its roles when the decision to inform the boyfriend came into my mind (surprisingly not to mum or dad anymore). I was imagining such a reaction:

*****

Me: Dear… Could I tell you something?
Calv: Yes my dear?

calvin1

Me:
Do you know you have such a charming smile?
*using the art of language I learned from Psychology*

Calv: Everyone knows that *smile*

calvin2

Me:
And, can I tell you another thing?

Calv: You can tell me anything, of course. What is it? *smile*

calvin3

Me: Promise you will not be angry? *gulp*

Calv: I’ve told you that you can tell me anything right?  Tell me lah~

Me: Oohh.. Ok.. I have lost your handphone at the garden today. I… am.. sorry..

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

calvin4

.

.

.

Calv: Say again?

.

.

*****

Those negative thoughts had conquered my mind and I could feel my heart beating furiously when the phone call received by le boyfriend. I have decided to bare the consequences so I am ready for the ‘say again’ moment.

To my surprise, he took it calmly and didn’t show any disappointment or anger towards the lost of his favorite phone. He even consoled me but at the same time advicing me not to use handphone anymore. Lol.. I’m joking. He advice me not to buy expensive phone in future.

I think I should. Or get an old phone like the bottle like one so that it is easily spotted when it dropped again. I guess, no one would be interested to stole such a bulky-out-dated-phone. Haha..

I am lucky to have such a caring and forgiving partner. This has reminded me about Dr. Randy Pausch on The Last Lecturer when he has reminded us that, “People are more important than things”. There is no need to hurt a person when you know the thing can be replaced. This is exactly what has been reflected through Calv’s action. I am thankful to both my boyfriend and God. I have learned something through the lost of the phone and the way he handle an issue.'

Still, a fruitful day for me… =)

Have I Made You Smile?

They say, nothing beats a beautiful smile.
I say, nothing beats a funny look.

Often, I don’t like to admit that I have cute or funny face because that adjectives don't impress me. Somehow, after 24 years of makan nasi dan membesar, I have to agree that.... I do have a very funny that can make people smile.

Playing with my camera's smile detection function. It will automatically snap when it detects smile. I think i look like a retarded person more. Oh my.

I grow up and have this new perception that, life doesn't have to be all serious and dull. Ones should relax and add in some humors in themselves as I believe we have enough stress in everyday life. Bringing out the playful side once in awhile even at the age of an adult (who cares!?) wouldn't do harm. In fact, it allows the happy hormone regulate the body - and you will become more cheerful!

So my question now is, have my funny face made you smile?

Eh! Cat On Wheel?

It was just a week ago when my family and I walked out from the house before my cousin brother, William shouted, “Look! Look! There…”

Instantly, all of us turned our heads to the direction he pointed and we found this:

what's

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

V

what's2

It’s a cat hiding on a lorry’s wheel.
Immediately all of us went LOL (laugh-out-out) and continued our attempt to the car.

However, I turned back while rummaging  for my camera in my handbag and I could still hear myself laughing at the funny cat. I snapped a few photos before making the move to our car. As I sank myself onto the car seat, I detected stinky smell in the car. And…. it was from my sandals.

I must have accidentally STEPPED ON DOG’s DROPPING while snapping the cat!
Ehhhhhwwww…..

Well, it doesn’t end there. I got fever at night. Dad said, I must have got too frighten with the dog’s shit. I think, it must have been the cat’s cursing – cos I was laughing at it. LOL.

Anyway, I have recovered. Again, what a cute cat on wheel. I bet it must be doing meditation at that moment.. =P

Xpax Shout! At The Library

You know what?

When I first received the invitation to Xpax Shout party at the Library, I seriously thought of this…. [see photo below]

xpax26 Ok. I’m just acting. I don’t really read boring, old books (unless i’ve no choice) =(

Updated: But netbook, papers and pencil box are real. No acting. lol.

Well, I’ve been spending most of my time in my campus library looking for relevant data for my research study since the beginning of the semester. Objects which I see the most are books, journals and magazines. I seriously think that I can make UM library as my second home… =_=

xpax7

Of course, the Library which I was being invited is obviously 10th times different. I believe, it should be one of the most happening pubs in this city. Thanks to Xpax from Celcom for offering me 2 free VIP passes so that I can bring my friend.

xpax4  Me with hat

xpax5 She with gorgeous hairband and her name is June =)

Seriously, I am glad to receive free passes where June and I can skip the long, i mean looooooooooooooooong queue before the entrance or might just leave and go back.

xpax6

xpax8

Looking at this big ‘X’ it remains me of this tagline, “Ada X, ada Pax ada Segalaya

See how happening this Xpax Shout party is! I have never been to anything as rock as this. I am glad that I wore something ‘rock and bold’ for this event. It fits the theme and the atmosphere. Scroll down if you don’t believe me (how dare you)

Besides cool prizes and rock bands, I have made new friends with new bloggers during in the event. It is great to catch up with the blogging community once in awhile. Well, I realized there are so many new bloggers lately and I am learning to remember all these new faces. Suddenly, I feel myself getting older.. *sob*

Can't I Be Happy Too?

The staff who served me was throwing me a surprising look.

My cousins were laughing at me when I reached the table.

Friends were showing me disbelief look.

Why?

Can’t I have a Happy Meal?

Is it wrong for a 23-year-old girl to purchase a chicken burger, a mini size French fried and a cup of cold Ribenna drink which were all placed in a colourful box?

And do I totally look like weirdo when I am playing with the batman?

I believe I am leaving in a democratic world and I am free do choose ‘MY WAY’.

Ok. Fine. Next mission: Chicky Meal.

Don't Steal This Car, But Next Car!

I almost fainted when I spotted a car with a mini signboard, hanging humbly behind at a corner of the rear windscreen.

Did I just say humble?
Haha...

Yes.
A really humble message from the owner of the car.
Let's peep closer...

*zooming at the yellow signboard*

*zooming*
*zooming*
*zooming*

I almost get there.. Done!
So, here you are. The best view I can capture over the message after being zoomed and focused by my pink-eggie (the name of my camera).

"WAIT! Don't Steal this Car. The car over there is much NICER"

Hahaha...

What a brilliant message to the car theft.
However, isn't that nasty at the same time? Convincing the potential theft to steal other car.

Haha..
What a lovely society???

I don't wanna park my car besides it.
No no no...

Obama Is Following Me!

Self talk- effects us in many ways. It depends on how we speak to ourselves, either positively or negatively. One of the important self-healing method being stressed in Cognitive Behavioral therapy.

Curryegg is right now, having war with herself. This is what the self-talk means:

:P

My Ovi:

What happen to your biological needs? You need to satisfy them in order to reach your Maslow Hierarchy needs. You can't keep yourself hungry for hours. *I'm so hungry.. Eerrr... when is my burger man delivering burger for me? My cheese chicken burger+cucumber+egg+tomato sauce. I think I should cook myself then...*
:(

Lastly, I know Obama is following you. What's a big deal? Who is him? Why are you so excited till you can't concentrate in studies? He is just Barack Obama and he has notthing to do with you.
*what? who is him? what's the big deal? just Barack Obama. Hey! It is a big deal and it has something to do with me! He is my idol ok? Don't you feel proud knowing that Obama is following me in Twitter?

My Little 'Evil' Day

"Jie jie Kelly. Waved at the people"

The mischievous Kevin suggested me to make a slow wave at the people who was crossing the road. If it was the casual me, people might think I'm shamelessly acting like a super star - Paris Hilton or Ashlee Simpson. However, this time is insanely different.

Yes. Seriously. It was different.
I did what he suggest.

*Slowly waving at the uniformed man who was busy chit chatting on the phone*

The first 3 seconds, he didn't notice the strange creature. Once the unfamiliar impulse stroke his brain, immediately, he responded. You know how he look like?

This!
And he almost dropped his handphone.
Lol...

It was a waste because no one manage to capture the 'scene'. Hahahahahahaha...

Honestly, do you know why he was innocently shocked by my look? Ok. And including Kevin. No idea?

Why Silence Is Golden?

Silence is golden.

I know. This is a very common idiom we always get to hear.
But how many of us really know the meaning of silence?
How about the word quiet?

There is time we need to speak and there is time we need to be quite. Sadly, not many understand this rule.

If you start to question the real meaning of silence, watch this video clip. It will tell you how important silence is. So, be quite and watch this! Make sure you laugh... :P

How To Treat Your Friends

I'm so boring lately as I've to prepare myself for my exam, again. Sigh... Why oh why we have to sit for the exam? Can't we just attend classes and do a little assignments without exam? Honestly, I'm getting phobia with exam as all the negative thoughts keep on hunting me whenever my mind interpreting the word E.X.A.M.

Sigh..
Sigh..
Sigh..

It's so hard to concentrate in my revision. I just don't know why. The only thing which can make me happy is wandering around in the Internet world. At least, my email box can make me 'happy' like, well... sometimes..

As I was checking my email box, I spotted a few familiar names in the sender corner. They are my friends, Nelson and See Khee. Both of them sent the same email to me. Obviously, it's a forwarded emails. No matter how, I am happy because they remember me and care for our friendship. How lucky I am to have them - I thought

Ironically, I am wrong. The emails don't sound any like what I've imagined earlier.

Craps.

This is what I've received...

U kno I'll always b there 4 u!....I
luv You!
send it back if you luv me too.....and send it to all ur other frends dat you luv

I'm so 'lucky' to know them....
=_=

P/s: This is one of the tips to treat your friend as lovingly as you can by forwarding this message to them. I know they will 'apprecite' your message like what I did here..
Lolx.... :P

To Know Or Not To Know?

I suddenly have this cold, frightening feeling when I read a message sent by my sweet, lovely friend yesterday. It gives me goose pimples just to glance at the handphone screen. She the sms since Wednesday but I just managed to receive it today. What should I do?

Still remember how I struggled revising my TITAS a month ago? How I came out with this infamous post during my struggles? I thought I will have another sweet, happy month before my new semester begins. All my thoughts are vanished and I'm forced to face the reality right now, sigh...

May I choose to ignore the message and continue my fantasy world, for another few weeks? May I? May I?
*bagging tone*

I just need another 2 week and I promise, I will go into the website and browse for the result. OMG! RESULT! The word, 'result' is alienating me. Ahhwww.....

Personally, I feel it's not a big deal whether to see the result now or then because it's already fixed and unchangeable (accept if I get all fail for all the subjects, I know I will fly to my lecturers and get the reasons. Impossible man!). The results are mine and I should accept it, welcomely. So, why am I making such noise here? Just go and check the result! That's all..

Sigh..
I'm just worry that I might get heart attack. Who will blog for curryegg.com if I'm sick? Or if I'm no longer in this world? What will happen? sob.. will you miss me? Please say you will or I'm going to shut this blog later.. (I know I won't..)

Lol...
Sorry for my words. I can feel some unidentified disorders are bugging me. Oopss... I've skipped my time for medicine. I'm going to have it now.

Last question:
To know or not to know.... my result?
